Theming is a many step process, and it's rare to see theming done in open view. • First photo today. Stones have appealing color variation, and there are surface imperfections. As if caused by lichen. • Second photo 2 days ago. Moss applied to cause imperfections in paint.

Current repainting of an area of Hogwarts Castle. Different sections have different stages of progress. Moss has been applied as a masking device. Paint is washed over the moss, and when the moss is removed there will be lichen-looking age spots in the surface.
